Sensible Eating Regime

We are all well aware what healthy living is.  It is having a sensible eating regime, taking regular exercise and staying active physically.  All very easy when you say it quickly but is this all there is to it?  The answer is a definitive NO.  We do need to make an effort an slight change to our current daily routines.

Most of us would never consider joining a Gymnasium simply because the thought of exercising in a leotard in front of everyone else brings you out in  a cold sweat just thinking about it.  But you don’t have to join, just taking a brisk walk around the town a few days each week will suffice.  Cutting fatty food from your diet will also help and if you are in need of losing weight then cut down on the portions.  These are simple remedies that will help you with healthy living.  Stopping smoking and excessive drinking are two more contributory factors to healthy living.

The care of your health is a very important part of living a healthy life.  Your efforts should include regular medical checkups and screenings if they are offered to you at any stage of your life.

Intelligent Healthy Eating

Healthy living goes hand in hand with a healthy lifestyle and to practice a healthy lifestyle will involve exercise and eating an improved diet to what you are currently undertaking.  Exercise needn’t be the equivalent of training for the Olympics and eating sensibly doesn’t mean you have to stick one hundred percent to consuming nothing but salads.   Gentle walking around the town combined with just smaller portions of most sensible foods will start you well on the way to healthy living.

Healthy living does not just include exercise and your diet.  If you are currently either a smoker or a drinker of alcoholic beverages or both then now is the time to stop.  Don’t try and stop with immediate effect because that will certainly not work.  Just do it in stages cutting down day by day or week by week depending on your current intake.

Additional tips for healthy living can include purifying the air in the home and perhaps taking a regular small amount of vitamins and health supplements. All of this combined with losing some weight via the exercise and a more sensible eating regime will enable you to feel so much better in and with yourself.

Food Pyramids

If you take time to enter ‘Food Pyramid’ into one of the internet search engines you will be met by some of the most interesting observations you can imagine about food, eating healthily and a very good guide to health living in general.

It is basically a group of food that explains the importance of consuming a variety of food that we should be having each day.  It provides information concerning the foods that we should eat less of and those that we can eat well.  Carbohydrates for example are far and beyond the most important food in the pyramid.  They give us more energy to enable us to complete our everyday tasks and to obtain healthy living.  Protein including vegetables and fruit is the next most important.

Do bear in mind though that healthy living does not involve just food.  Water is vitally important and must be taken regularly.  Exercise even on a gentle basis is considered an essential part.

Once the body is in good condition then the metabolism will provide good digestion.  This will in turn result in a better flow of blood and consequently more energy is released to enable us to work and provide us with a better and more healthy living.

Healthy Living Away From Oxidants

Those of us old enough to remember our parents at the age we are now may recall how they appeared to be compared with how we look and feel today.  They say age wise that yesterdays 60’s are today’s 40’s.  We probably have visions of living to 100 yet still feel like we are in our fifties.

A healthy living and healthy lifestyle is paramount in helping us achieve this goal of wanting to live as long as we can.  Having a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can have a big impact on this because you are getting the right vitamins and minerals.  You are also getting superb anti-oxidants so important for removing free radicals and helping to keep you healthier and hopefully younger feeling.

Food for healthy living apart from the aforementioned fruit and vegetables will include grains and low saturated fats. You will also help yourself by reducing your salt intake, reducing your sugar intake and ensuring you have a low fat intake.

Eating a proper diet for healthy living invokes what we want to look like, feel like and how we want to achieve a more youthful feeling and appearance.  As the saying goes, ‘you are what you eat’ so a healthy diet equals a healthy you.

Food and Diet
